Ticket FAQ

I can’t wait to come! Where do I buy my tickets?

We don’t blame you! There are three ways to buy your tickets. First, you can buy them online here. Second, you can buy them at the Eddie the Eagle Museum in Magna Plaza. Third, you can pick one up at De Brakke Grond on Saturday the 18th. Tickets cost €12 and will let you into (mostly!) everything, but we’ll get to that!

How do I use my ticket to access the event?

It’s easy! When Nuit Blanche finally arrives take your ticket to De Brakke Grond and exchange it for a wrist band. Then go crazy! There’s no set route, no schedule, just follow your heart and see where it leads.

But I don’t wanna buy a ticket! What do I do?

If you don’t have a ticket the Guerilla Restaurant will cost €5, if you’re coming for a snack and a drink instead of the €25 dinner. The Eddie the Eagle Plaza will also cost €5, as will the Brakke Grond, Eye Film Institute and Cracklight District. Rental, Art and Bicycle Maintenance will cost €3 for entry, while bike hire will cost €5 to €7. The performance at the Parool Theatre will cost €2.50.

Yay, I have a ticket! Do I still have to pay for anything?
The Happy Hooker part of the Mini Tour costs €5 whether you have a ticket or not, and you will need to email mirjam@nuitblancheamsterdam.nl to make a booking. Dinner at the Guerilla Restaurant costs €25, and bookings are essential.

We hope we have presented you the most useful information. For more details and a map with all the locations, check out the following website: www.nuitblancheamsterdam.nl

And as a last tip: Sleep as much as you can these days because on Saturday night a 12-hours adventure is being prepared for you!

Any plans for tomorrow?

Thursday, 26th May, Eleven Events is proud to present the event "Through the Eyes of a Child" in collboration with ROC and Brotherhood4Real. As you could see until now we wanted to introduce you to the artists who are going to perform tomorrow evening. Since there is only one day left until the event today is the perfect day to introduce you to Gino!

Gino Cochise van Ligten (02 October 1990) was born in a very musical family, with his parents Julya Lo’’ko (professional singer) and Erwin van Ligten (professional guitarist). At the age of five Gino started playing the drums with more than passion.
As Gino got older he got more experienced within music and broadened his talents with learning bass, percussion, guitar and  keyboard.  Gino – Cochise always heard music in his head and because he got better at playing these instruments Gino could realize his musical fantasies. With all these experiences, door after door opened for Gino Cochise, whereas this formed his dream.
Go international with his own band, compose and produce and get acknowledgment as a worthy musician/drummer who appeals to people for his uniqueness and creativity. So far his highlight has been the price for best singer/songwriter of Holland 2010 in which he played along with the young and talented singer Nicole Bus, for whom he wrote two songs (Fly Away & More than life). He composed every part of these songs, from music to lyrics to vocals.
Since 2011 his promising band “The Muffin Majors” is complete and is he ready to take over the world.
On May 26, 2011 Gino – Cochise may show all his talents at his very first show: “Through the Eyes of a Child” at MuzyQ, Amsterdam.

Are you ready to meet Feliciana?

This week is an important week for us at Eleven Events. Thursday we are waiting for all of you to join us and have a great experience at muzyQ Amsterdam. In order to get more familiar with the venue you can check the following link. http://www.muzyq.com/

Today we are going to introduce you another great artist from the line-up of the event "Through the Eyes of a Child".

Introducing Netherlands own miss Feliciana Cacciapuoti…

This gifted singer by the young age of 19 is planning to take The Netherlands by storm, and soon to follow the whole world. Not only does this star on the rise have a unique voice, but she also writes her own lyrics and music. Her passion, beauty, talent and determination only point one way : to the top!!
It all started at the age of 7 when Feliciana played dressed-up, got into the roll of one of the Spice Girls and performed all of their songs in a surprisingly talented way for her age. While growing up in a house full of music , she was inspired by her fathers Italian, and her mothers Dutch influences. Her interest for music quickly developed into her passion and is currently turning into her way of life: “As a young creative being , I have the incredible hunger to express myself. If I couldn’t express myself creatively I would be a very sad and especially depressed person.”

Feliciana is working as a singer/songwriter and writes besides for herself also for various artists from the UK and the US. “Writing is my therapy, my way of explaining my mindstate and my way of expressing my feelings.” Also Feliciana has her own production team called The Difference (www.myspace.com/thedifferenceofficial) with whom she works on her own repertoire.
As a performing artist Feliciana has already rocked the stage at big Dutch venues like Melkweg, Paradiso, Panama, and Supperclub.
Next to doing her own repertoire Feliciana also performed as one of the backing vocalists of Aischa Traidia and is currently singing as one of the backings of La Melodia Vibing High (2007) , Electronic Love (2010) (www.lamelodia.com). Upon request she also did a successful showcase for one of the biggest record labels in the world, EMI, who have been interested in this artist ever since they heard her sing. This gifted singer has a lot to offer, no doubt in her mind she will soar straight to the top.

     We hope your ready,
     because Feliciana is!

Let us introduce you Ironlaw

As you all know already we are an events company and we are working on different projects. After the success with MasterPeace experience we started working on our next event. It is called "Through The Eyes Of a Child " and it is going to take place on 26th of May at muzyQ Amsterdam.
In order to get you more familiar with what is going to happen that night and to pique your interest we are going to present you with the biographies of the artists performing that night and more details about the event during the next days.
Today we are going to start by introducing you Ironlaw. A multi-talented artist who deserves all your attention, especially if you are looking for fresh, new upcoming artists.

Singer/songwriter, rapper/mc, composer and dancer Lawrence Irons was raised in the artistic center of Germany, Berlin, with an Afro-American father and German mother.Entertainment, music and dance was the domestic norm growing up in the rehearsal rooms of his father’s dance/theater school with the rhythms of rap, pop, jazz and r&b music surrounding his life.

To this day Lawrence’s musicality and personality has always demanded the center of attention, claiming the eyes and ears of the people who see or hear him perform.
Now for over a decade, Lawrence’s childhood pastime has become his profession, constantly creating new music and looking for the everlasting showcase that would bring satisfaction to him and his desires.

In 2001 he left Berlin for Rotterdam to study modern dance at the “Rotterdamse Dansakademie” (Codarts) where he graduated with a bachelor degree in 2005. He toured internationally, performed in numerous dance repertoires and worked with top choreographers during his education. In 2010 Lawrence joined “Dance Works Rotterdam/Andre Gingras” as a professional dancer.
He founded his own record label “Ironlaw-Entertainment” in 2008 under which he releases his work including his solo debute album “When I Look Back” in 2009. With the branch “Ironlaw-Education” he offers workshop experiences in dance and sports to public schools and the community.
Lawrence also produces and performes at parties called “Nu-Forms” in Rotterdam with dance improvisation, spoken words and live music and was co-producer and frontman in “Coalition Of The Wicked” who has been active in the Dutch crossover scene from 2004 till 2007.

As “Ironlaw” he performed on countless venues as a singer/frontman, mc/host and dancer such as; Park Pop, Noorderslag, Vier Daagse, Uitmarkt, Pop Ronde, Bevrijdings Festival, Oranje Pop, Amsterdam Dance Event, Robodock Festival, Nu-Moon Festival, Holland Dance Festival etc.
Besides his music and dance career Lawrence participated in professional Thai Boxing competitions but gave this up while joining Dance Works Rotterdam/Andre Gingras.

So as you can see, even if Ironlaw is not mainstream his involvement and devotion for the music and arts in general could serve as an example to many other mainstream artists.

If we made you curious even a little bit than we are waiting for you to come and join us on 26th of May in Amsterdam and see what Ironlaw has been up to.

To find more details about Ironlaw's albums and to hear his songs you can visit his website @ www.ironlaw-entertainment.com

MasterPeace Experience & Liberation Festivals

It is Monday again and Eleven Events is back in the office. If you question yourself why there was no post lately on our blog it is because we were busy working at the MasterPeace project. As you could read in a previous post on our blog MasterPeace is the most heart-warming peace project! To give a more clear idea we present you the MasterPeace Passion Statement:

MUSIC above FIGHTING,
DIALOGUE above JUDGEMENT,
BREAD above BOMBS and
CREATION above DESTRUCTION.

On 5th May people in The Netherlands are celebrating the Liberation Day, a national holiday and a moment to think of the past, be grateful and also to think of what you can do for peace & liberty in the future.
We are very proud because this year we have collaborated with MasterPeace and we are satisfied with the results. A lot of people got the in "peace mood" at the MasterPeace tents at the Liberation Festivals.
There were a lot of activities going on that brought people together and encouraged them to join the MasterPeace campaign for peace - " Just do it!". Among these activities we can mention:
The MasterPeace Dream, the Speed Mediation, the cartoons drawing workshop, the flash experience and of course the Peace Party at the end of the day.

If you want to check out the mood from the MasterPeace tent @ Bevrijdingsfestival in Haarlem follow the link for the pictures on flickr!

It's all about creativity

Yesterday was the first day in the office for Eleven Events, under Rookie Entertainment International. We were really excited to start working on our projects but also about the "Fun in the Sun" activity.
All the teams within Rookie company were asked to put their creativity at work and discover which 3 products/ services can they trade with another team in order to get more out of the collaboration in the same company.
That made us all think which unique and useful services can we provide as a company to another business. All our different backgrounds and experiences make us unique and since we are an international group there were varied and plenty offers to be traded among the teams. The activity was a real success and we discovered that we have so much more to offer than we thought.

After all the teams traded their best ideas and services, as a closure to this activity we were asked to put together all the creative ideas that arise from this and create an event for the whole Rookie Entertainment International..
This is the concept with which the creative managers come up with:
We were able to create an event mainly focused on different workshops and activities traded by the teams like: - Recording
       - Kung fu workshop
       - Massage
       - Producing workshop
       - Rap workshop
       - Basketball
       - Teambuilding techniques
       - Dancing workshop
       - Acting
The event could end with a closing act which can be a mix within all the workshops that took place and could bring together all the people from the event.
The solutions for catering and transport also came from the trades between the teams. So the catering is going to be sponsored by the teams who had as a trade baking cakes, creating a barbecue and having a beer sponsor. For the transport we had a team who offered as a trade free train transportation to and from the event.
The ticket price will be  €15,- including free transport, food and drinks and of course the workshops.

What about peace?

Spring is here. Can you feel it? Can you see the enthusiasm in the eyes of people when they look around them and see that the whole nature is coming back to life ? We are full of energy and ready to jump in for MasterPeace. What about you?
As you already know the world is facing a lot of challenges especially when it comes about peace. Take a minute of your time and think that while you sit in the office, wait for the train or just have a chat in the sun with a good friend in another part of the world people are suffering due to the conflicts that occur in their countries.

MasterPeace is a global project based on the collaboration between West and East countries, NGOs, companies, cities and social entrepreneurs. On 21st September 2014, the International Day of Peace, MasterPeace will become the most heartwarming peace project.Meanwhile different regional clubs from different countries will set up activities to bring people together in the communities to share their thoughts and translate them into actions.

360 Music Deals - How do YOU see it?

We came by this article today and it made us think about the 360 Music Deals, how they became a trend in the music industry and what do artists really think about it.

Tolu Olorunda -            Lupe’s Lasers: The Death Sentence for Major Record Labels
 (cultural critic and
    a former AHH
editorial columnist )
Speaking last Tuesday at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, on the night of his fifth solo release, Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang, legendary artist Raekwon listed a few pillars under which “real Hip-Hop” must fall—wittiness, slang, real-life value, lyrical worth, and a non-commercial edge. In case the concert audience had slumbered through the last item, he repeated with emphasis: “It’s got to be non-commercial!” On the same day, another prominent artist was living the reality of a music industry whose iron fist often tightens around the necks of those who refuse to submit and do as told. Lupe Fiasco’s Lasers dropped, following a tumultuous three-year delay no one saw coming.
After two superb albums released in the winter months of 2006 and 2007, all eyes fell upon the Chicago native to invade a territory only few have ever trudged; and for most fans, this represented less a demand and more an expectation. The last ten years had produced in Rap no fresher voice, no wittier mind, and it just seemed inevitable—that time would do him justice, and the ladder of quality would stretch higher on his behalf (especially since the sophomore curse had so eluded him in an age of ephemerality), and that with a third album he might possibly accomplish in ways a predecessor had tragically failed (Illmatic, It Was WrittenI Am), successfully dodging the deadly commercial darts flying his way: darts which pierce with determination, rendering great artists casualties of early success; more importantly, repeated success which upset the logic of cemented probability, which undo tried and true equations record labels have built castles upon: Street Consciousness + Social Courage + Lyricism = Billboard Disaster.
Fans, it turns out, were wrong; and just like his predecessor, Lupe is now staring at an impasse, unable to reconcile his third effort with the two classics of a not too distant past. And his fingers have for the last few weeks been pointing in one direction—the record label, Atlantic Records, which signed him in 2004 to a rumored six-album deal. This is the label’s album, Lupe has been chanting to music websites for a few days now. Even when the success of his first official single, “The Show Goes On,” is raised, Lupe seems hardly moved, explaining to Chicago Sun-Times columnist Thomas Conner: “It’s their record. My words, their music. They forced this song to be a No. 1 single, and that's what they got. I can't take any credit for it.”
Conner spoke with him earlier this month, and extracted some painfully brutal remarks from an artist half-ashamed of his work, which he says is “very abstract. I had to create this commercial art that appeases the corporate side. I had to acquiesce to certain forces. Hopefully within that I snuck in some things I actually wanted to say any way I can.” Lupe explained with the commercial success of his first two records an inebriating confidence overwhelmed him, so he walked into the boardrooms expecting a bump in the budget, to replicate on a grander scale the formula which had defied odds and proved viable twice in a row.
Soon enough, however, he wised up to the chicanery at hand and canceled all other futile meetings. Atlantic one-upped and froze his budget, then began taunting his dignity, telling him not to “rap too deep on this record,” to play it safe. “That was a specific order from the top. ‘You're rapping too fast or too slow, or it's too complex’.” Atlantic also wanted the superstar, whose light was brightening each passing day, to sign a 360 deal, which would stick the label’s fingers into his pockets on any commercial venture. When he budged, the overlords, not used to unservile artists, struck harder: “I was told, ‘Because you didn't sign this 360 deal, we may or may not push your record’.”
Sometimes, living in a world like this
It’s pretty hard not to go insane
Not pretty if you don’t comply
Pretty easy if you don’t complain
What a strange creature Lupe must have seemed—a young, Black artist who didn’t sign every dotted line put before him. The dregs of Atlantic dragged out this years-long process, as fans kept chasing down fleeting rumors about completed albums which might never see the light of day.
  .........................................................
Frederick Douglass was right about Power and Demand; and more than ever before it seems painfully evident that everyday people—fans and supporters—truly have the power to weaken the knees of corporate giants who need them far more than they care to admit, for without the hard-earned dollars of the multitude, which carelessly disperse their scraps on CDs, ringtones, concert tickets, and merchandise, the bottom line checks out. Regrettably, the great gods of illiteracy have so systematically humbled the masses that, these days, most blindly and gleefully accept s**tfor breakfast—gouging on recycled waste without a thought. Responsibility, then, falls upon the conscious to ratchet up the momentum, never letting up until all demands are met; only then would the scales fall from the eyes of the blind, and a true revolution of values sweep through the industry, setting free our many captive artists.

Social media and the Dutch market

This week we became active in the social media as a company. Since we are young professionals this is the best tool we can use to invite people to discover more about us. That is why we were curious to find out more about the use of social media in The Netherlands.

Below you can read some facts we found during our research about the influence of social media in the Dutch market:

   Report Overview
The Netherlands has extraordinarily high internet penetration with 82.9% of the country’s population having internet access and mostly via broadband. Compared to global and European penetration, Holland has a much higher percentage of its population surfing the internet than most other countries. You can see from the figures below, just how wide the gap is:
  Most important networks
Because almost everybody has a reliable broadband Internet connection in the Netherlands, social media has grown fast. Not only the international ones, but also the “locals”:

     Hyves – Dutch social network
  • 9,000,000 members in NL
  • 2 / 3 minimum monthly logs
  • 8 million unique monthly visits
  • 6.5 billion page views per month
  • Average age 27 years
  • 80% = 13 to 34
  • 66% = 35 to 49
  • 30% = 50+
       Facebook – international social network
  • 250 million active users,
  • avg. 120 Friends
  • 70% outside USA
  • 120 million visits daily Facebook
  • Facebook every day 600,000 new accounts
  • Particular growth> 35 years of age
  • 1 billion photos uploaded per month,
  • 10 million videos
  • 30 million mobile Facebook
  • In the Netherlands from 236,000 to 1,031,000 (Feb. 09)

         LinkedIn – international business network
  • 44 million members
  • 1 new member per second (86,000 per day)
  • half outside USA
  • The average LinkedIn user is a man of 41 with 15 years experience
  • In the Netherlands 1.5 million members

    Twitter – international microblog site
  • 400,000 members in the Netherlands

As we can see social media has a great impact on the Dutch market so we will make use of this strength in order to reach a larger audience and to spread our message.

The facts presented above are related to the social media channels we are active in. For more information and a complete report check out the below link:http://eccosocialmedia.wordpress.com/2010/02/15/netherlands-the/
